Crann Trees for Ireland

County Kildare

Crann Trees for Ireland raises awareness of the environmental importance of trees, hedgerows and woodland. Crann advocates for the planting and protection of ‘the right trees in the right places’ at every opportunity. They work with local communities and youth groups to create a sense of purpose and pride of place.

The Conservation Volunteers

Northern Ireland

Established in 1959, The Conservation Volunteers (TCV) is one of UK’s leading environmental volunteering charities. TCV believes the environment belongs to everyone and that everyone has the ability to get actively involved. In Northern Ireland, TCV’s Native Tree Nursery project at Clandeboye is a prime example of how they enable local people to reduce their carbon footprint whilst preserving the genetic heritage of native Ulster provenance trees. TCV strives to connect people and green spaces to deliver lasting outcomes for both.
