Torrent Power Limited (TPL) has set up a natural gas fired grid connected electricity generation project (comprising three blocks with a total capacity of 1147.5 MW) at Akhakhol (Village), in Kamrej Taluka, Surat District, Gujarat, India. The project activity generates electricity using Natural Gas (including LNG) as fuel. By using efficient and advanced technology based on natural gas, the project is displacing carbon intensive power generation thereby reducing CO2 (Carbon dioxide) emissions, which would have been otherwise emitted. The project therefore has excellent environmental benefits in terms of reduction in carbon emissions.
